Hon. Paul Bettencourt

Hon. Paul Bettencourt, former Harris County Tax Assessor- Collector

“Like you and I, Lana Shadwick has for years been on the front lines fighting for conservative principles, candidates and causes in Harris County.  She has stapled yard signs, walked blocks, worked phone banks and donated financially.  She has also been on the front line at election recounts fighting to make sure that elections are not fraudulently stolen from us.  She is dedicated and tough and she will once again serve like a true Republican judge.”

Hon. Sid Miller

Hon. Sid Miller, State Representative HD 59; Chairman, House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety

Rep. Miller was the author in the last legislative session, of House Bill 15 – the Abortion Sonogram Bill which became law when Gov. Perry signed it this summer. The law then faced several court challenges. The latest of which was dismissed by a federal court. This bill is now the law of the state of Texas. He is also responsible for removing over $50 million in funding for Planned Parenthood across Texas.

Hon. Debbie Riddle

Hon. Debbie Riddle, State Representative, HD 150

Though it is my “rule not to endorse” I am willing to break this self emposed rule because of the length of time I have known Lana and her strong proven record.

Lana Shadwick is a conservative Republican with a long track record to back it up.  Her prior experience as a judge combined with her criminal law expertise as an appellate prosecutor make her the most qualified and best suited candidate for this court.  I am proud to stand beside her in this race.

Hon. Robert Eckels

Hon. Robert Eckels, former Harris County Judge

“As a criminal district court judge, Lana Shadwick will work for the strict enforcement of the law and for the protection of our families and neighborhoods. She is a longtime conservative Republican and will represent what you expect of those in the judiciary.”

Hon. Paul Pressler

Hon. Paul Pressler, Retired Justice, Fourteenth Court of Appeals

“Lana Shadwick and I have been friends for years.  I support her enthusiastically based on a thorough knowledge of her character and abilities.”

Gary Polland

Gary Polland, Former Chair of the Harris County Republican Party and Editor of the Texas Conservative Review:

“Lana Shadwick is a proven conservative Republican who is running on principle, not opportunism.  I have seen her consistently stand for Republican principles and causes for twenty years.  She has the strength to uphold the rule of law and to stand firm with the principles of our founding fathers.  She is a tough prosecutor but has the perfect temperament, maturity, and life experience to be a judge.  Lana Shadwick has judicial experience and will be a great criminal district court judge, one that we will be proud of.”

Hon. George Strake, Jr.

Hon. George Strake, Jr., 90th Texas Secretary of State; former Chairman, Republican Party of Texas; member of C Club of Houston

Hon. Tim Taft

Hon. Tim Taft, retired Justice, First Court of Appeals

“As I was before going to the bench, Lana Shadwick is a prosecutor in the appellate section of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, one of the finest state prosecutorial appellate sections in Texas and the nation.  This experience, in addition to her years as an associate family court judge, qualifies her for the rulings she will make as a criminal judge because the issues on appeal relate to any errors made by the judge during trial.  I have also known her since the early 1990’s when we were both charter members of the Downtown Pachyderm Club.  She is without a doubt, through-and-through, a conservative Republican.  She has always worked to promote our Republican conservative principles.”

Earl Lairson

Earl Lairson, active Republican and fellow 1996 Grand Jury member

“Lana Shadwick is running for criminal district court judge.  Maturity and life experience matter.  She and I served on a Grand Jury in 1996 together.  She is fifty-four years old.  She has the judicial experience and the life experience to serve in this position.  She and I have both worked for conservative Republican values for many years. You can trust her to represent our values.”

Ron & Deany Meinke

Deany Meinke, former President Daughters of Liberty Republican Women’s Club and Ron Meinke, Precinct Chair pct. #525, SREC 13 – retired, Chair of Harris County Christian Coalition – retired

“Lana Shadwick is the only candidate in this race that has a proven record of service to the Republican Party.  She has been endorsed by many prominent conservative Republican officials because her service has been both sustained and strong.  She is the only candidate with judicial experience.  Lana has worked for our values, and for law and order and justice, throughout her nineteen years as a lawyer, associate judge, and prosecutor.  Our fellow conservative Republican will be a great criminal law judge.”

Phil Trumbly

Phil Trumbly, victim, vehicular manslaughter case

“My wife was tragically killed by an irresponsible and impaired driver who recklessly got behind the wheel.  Lana Shadwick fought hard at trial with the prosecution and on appeal to make sure that my wife’s killer was convicted and received the maximum possible sentence so he could never kill or injure anyone else ever again. I believe Lana Shadwick would be a fair and hardworking judge and that she will do her best to protect the best interests of the people of Harris County.”

Orlando Sanchez

Hon. Orlando Sanchez, Harris County Treasurer and former City of Houston council member

“I was a City of Houston councilman when Lana Shadwick served as an associate judge in our courts.  Her demeanor, temperament and dedication made me proud.  Her abilities were recognized and she was later asked to be an associate judge in busy Harris County Family District Courts.  She has always served compassionately and fairly but is tough when she needs to be.  I have known her for almost twenty years and she has always opened her home and heart to Hispanic Republicans.”

“Lana Shadwick is an experienced jurist with a proven history of working well with law enforcement, both as a municipal court associate judge and through her work in the Harris County Attorney’s office where she defended deputies and county law enforcement officers who were being sued. She is an expert in the area of child abuse and family violence. Our court system will be well served by someone with her education, experience and knowledge.” Eric Batton, Vice-President, Harris County Deputies Organization.
